Catalan police confirmed that the person shot in the incident is Younes Abouyaaqoub, prime suspect in the terrorist attack in Barcelona.

Catalan police confirm that they have shot a suspect who is wearing what appears to be an explosive belt.

El Periodico reported that a “suspected terrorist” with explosive belt shouted “Allah is great” in Arabic at a petrol station just outside Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Earlier they placed the petrol station near Gelida.

El País said the person is believed to be Abouyaaqoub. According to the outlet, police shot him but cannot get close to the body because of the possible explosives.
