UK counter terrorism officers arrest man at Heathrow Airport

Police at London's Heathrow Airport arrested a man as he disembarked a flight from Istanbul, the capital's 11th terror-related arrest in as many days.

Police at London’s Heathrow Airport arrested a 30-year old man as he disembarked a flight from Istanbul, the British capital’s eleventh terror-related arrest in as many days.

Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command officers arrested the man on Thursday May 4 under section 5 of the Terrorism Act of 2006, which targets preparatory acts with the intent of committing, or assisting in, an act of terrorism.

The unidentified man has been taken to a south London police station and detained for further questioning.

Police said they were searching a property in east London in connection to the arrest.

The incident is the latest in a recent string of anti-terror arrests in London. Though the three sets of arrests have not been linked, the Met are asking Londoners to remain alert, and pass any information to the police.
